"Alzheimer’s is like a thief in the night. I was 44 years old in 1989 when God opened the flood gates of poetry inside me. I was dealing with the pain of losing my mama to the cruel, mind robbing disease of Alzheimer’s. Poetry that I had no idea was even there. As the tears mixed with the words I wrote on my paper, locked up memories from my childhood began to open in my mind. These tears eventually washed away the pain and healed my soul. Thank you Jesus!"
